Brandt Group of Companies is currently seeking a Programmer Scheduler for our Regina, SK location.

The programmer Scheduler is responsible to ensure of the accuracy and completeness of the information feed to the CNC equipment within the metal processing division. This information must be available to ensure the equipment and raw materials are best utilized while ensure the needs of the customers are being meet.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Programing and scheduling of the various pieces of CNC equipment within the metal processing area. Including, plasma torch, Laser, Press brakes and Rolls.
  • Focus on manufacturing products in the most efficient manner while increasing factory throughput and output.
  • Focus on continuous improvement and Lean initiatives.
  • Work closely with programming and scheduling manager to ensure an accurate short and long term plan to meet the needs of the metal processing customers.
  • Ensure material utilization is better than the prescribed requirement, if not must raise issue to the manager
  • Generate reports indicating machine performance and material utilization
  • Follow standard operating procedures as defined by manager and give input and suggestions on ways to improve
  • Monitor loading on each piece of equipment and shift work between work centers to maintain a level load, shortest lead time and effective use of raw materials.
  • Other duties, relevant to the position, shall be assigned as required.

  • Ability to learn software programs very quickly
  • Can read drawings

Required Skills
  • Technical training such as mechanical technologist diploma or engineering degree would be an asset
  • Preference given to individuals Planning and Scheduling Professional (PSP) accreditation
  • Experience in programing and operating CNC equipment, including lasers, press brakes, plasmas, rolls, saws and mills.
  • Experience with nesting software with preference to experience in Sigmanest and Trumpf software.
  • Proficient in CAD software with preference to experience in Solidworks.
  • Basic knowledge of MRP systems and inventory management
  • This is a shift work position
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds
