Inside Technical Sales

We are seeking for our value-added products and services. This position will be a combination of OEM and transactional.
As a Sales Engineer, you will be focused on providing technical advice and support to the sales team. You will consider the customers’ requirements when conducting technical analysis to ensure costs, resources, time, materials and specifications are accurate for the application. This position reports into the Fabrication Sales Manager – Canada.
Roles and Responsibilities
- Interpret and clarify customer provided materials such as blueprints, CAD files, and specifications
- Analyze tolerances, materials, and GD&T that will guide supply chain choices.
- Collect and analyze data in order to estimate the time, money, materials, and labor required to manufacture metal products and assemblies
- Design part specific supply chains by utilizing internal production processes and tier 2 production processes to meet customer quality and delivery requirements
- Negotiate labor and delivery options with tier 2 vendor base on a part level basis
- Establish resale pricing for parts based on raw material and labor inputs
- Perform follow up calls to gain acceptance of the offer and arrive at a mutual agreement of an order
- Daily interaction via phone and email regarding customer needs
- Ability to present solutions to prospective customers and win orders as well as identify additional sales opportunities with existing customers
- Understand and communicate current market trends and customer feedback
- Develop quotations and negotiate contract proposals that are responsive to customer needs and result in profitable sales
- Ability to build cost matrix for new customer opportunities and quotations
- Utilize Salesforce to indicate monthly client forecast and create SIOP reports
- Use SAP to validate the final cost invoiced at time of reception of order
- Create order requests subject to approval by the purchasing manager
- Validate final POs with buyers to ensure accuracy
- Act as a project leader on large quotes or packages, including quote management, supply chain management, and service model management; manages high level project vision and detailed quote needs
- Manage RAP (Ryerson Advanced Processing) contract inventory management
- Coordinate Outside Service Provider (OSP) management by identifying new OSP / labour partners and assist in the evaluation of existing shops
