Our financial services client is seeking a Senior .Net Software Engineer (5+ years) to remediate security vulnerabilities using .NET Core, REST APIs, and microservices

Duration: Until Dec 31,

Location: Remote (High preference for candidates in Montreal and Ontario so that they can go into office for collaboration)

Join a backend and API-focused initiative supporting security remediation across legacy and modern .NET applications within an insurance environment. This role focuses on analyzing vulnerability reports, fixing security issues in APIs and backend services, and contributing to .NET REST API and microservices development using Docker and Kubernetes. The environment includes REST services built from Open API/Swagger specifications, event-driven services with Kafka, and deployments across Kubernetes environments.

Must Haves:

  • 5+ years in .NET, .NET Core, and full application development life cycle environments
  • REST APIs, SOAP, JSON, OpenAPI, Swagger, and backend development
  • Microservices, Docker, Kubernetes, MS SQL, and web services technologies
  • DevOps, CI/CD, Jenkins, Artifactory, BitBucket, Gradle, and Ansible
  • Post secondary Computer Science diploma or degree

Nice to Have:

  • Experience with Kubernetes, Okta, Kafka, AWS, MongoDB
  • Security remediation experience
  • Experience with Checkmarx or internal security scanning tools
  • Financial services, insurance, or Group Benefits experience
  • Exposure to Enterprise Service Bus (ESB) integration architectures and technologies

Responsibilities:

  • Lead the design, development, and deployment of .NET REST APIs and microservices
  • Review vulnerability reports and analyze affected applications
  • Fix security issues in existing APIs and backend services
  • Build event-driven services and processes using Kafka
  • Use and enhance DevOps tools and CI/CD processes
  • Produce and maintain documentation in compliance with SDLC requirements
  • Support application stability, performance, problem analysis, and resolution in production environments
