As the Director of Human Resources, you will lead the HR department at ANNISAA, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and fostering a mission-driven and inclusive work culture. This role will require strategic oversight of all HR initiatives, from compliance and policy creation to team development and volunteer management.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Develop and Implement HR Strategy : Lead the creation and execution of HR strategies aligned with organizational goals, fostering a positive, inclusive, and mission-focused work environment.
  • Establish HR Policies and Ensure Compliance : Design, implement, and uphold HR policies and procedures, maintaining a respectful, compliant workplace aligned with employment laws and industry best practices.
  • Manage Recruitment and Talent Acquisition : Oversee end-to-end recruitment, including job postings, screening, interviewing, and onboarding for paid and volunteer roles. Attract and retain high-calibre talent suited to the organization’s mission.
  • Foster Employee and Volunteer Relations; Oversee Performance Management : Support staff and volunteer relations by facilitating performance evaluations, addressing concerns, and promoting staff development initiatives to build a motivated and engaged team.
  • Lead Projects and Manage Change Initiatives : Direct HR and volunteer-related projects, supporting smooth transitions for new policies or practices and aligning with organizational change initiatives.
  • Compensation, Benefits, and Volunteer Rewards : Administer employee payroll and benefits programs and oversee volunteer recognition and rewards, ensuring equity and satisfaction.
  • Strategic Planning and Budgeting : Collaborate with leadership to develop and manage the HR and Volunteer Management budget, contributing to strategic planning initiatives and aligning HR and volunteer goals with organizational objectives.

QUALIFICATIONS :

  • Relevant Work Experience : Proven experience in human resources leadership within the non-profit sector, with a track record of developing and implementing HR strategies aligned with organizational goals.
  • Education and Certification : Degree in Human Resources or Business Administration. CHRP / CHRL designation required or in progress.
  • Technical Proficiency : Proficiency in Microsoft 365 and HRIS (HUMI) with experience in payroll and benefits administration software.
  • Human Resources Expertise : In-depth knowledge of employment laws and regulations, talent acquisition, performance management, employee relations, and compensation and benefits.
  • Leadership and Team Management : Demonstrated experience leading and managing HR teams to effectively support organizational operations and employee engagement.
  • Project and Change Management : Proven ability to manage HR projects and lead change initiatives, ensuring smooth implementation and adoption within the organization.
  • Communication and Interpersonal Skills : Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to engage diverse stakeholders, foster a positive workplace culture, and handle sensitive employee issues with diplomacy.
  • Analytical and Problem-Solving Skills : Strong analytical skills for HR metrics and data analysis, with a demonstrated ability to identify trends, propose solutions, and improve organizational performance.
  • Commitment to Mission and Cultural Competence : A strong passion for ANNISAA’s mission, understanding and sensitivity to diverse populations and a commitment to fostering an inclusive and equitable work environment.
  • Vulnerable Sector Check : A satisfactory Police Record Check and a Vulnerable Sector Police Records Check must be provided to ensure the safety and well-being of our staff, volunteers, and the community we serve.
  • APPLICATION PROCESS :

  • Step 2 : Tele-Screening (Phone Interview) : Shortlisted candidates will participate in a brief phone screening. This conversation is informal and not directly related to the role's responsibilities.
  • Step 3 : First Interview (Zoom) : Selected candidates will participate in a formal interview via Zoom to discuss their qualifications, skills, and how they align with the role's expectations.
  • Step 4 : Scenario-Based Home Assignment : Shortlisted candidates will be asked to complete a scenario-based home assignment to demonstrate their approach to relevant challenges and tasks.
  • Step 5 : Final Selection and Onboarding : Successful candidates will be informed of their selection and provided with the next steps for onboarding.
