Job Description

The Operations Supervisor for the BSF Technology Center (BTC) will be responsible for establishing and implementing standard operating procedures to ensure compliance with HSE and Quality standards, while delivering data that can be used for future investments. This position will provide hands on support to employees through training and development, and collaborate with remote functional leaders to manage financial, HR, legal and IT matters.

Essential Functions

• Support business development activities by supporting site tours to current and potential partners, customers, and government officials.
• Support the sales execution process for distribution of whole dried larvae to online partners and customers.
• Manage whole-dried larvae and frass inventory using SAP Business One.
• Support black soldier fly biology processes to ensure production KPIs are achieved.
• Utilize SAP Business One and associated procurement procedures to manage site expenses in-line with the budget.
• Complete risk assessments to ensure that all work practices are fully compliant to company and legal health and safety requirements.
• Manage site environmental compliance including any necessary government licenses and reporting requirements.
• Collaborate with the BSF technical team and others within the PreZero organics team to establish agreed best practice and implement them as part of standard operating procedures.
• Responsible for development of standard operating procedures and hands-on training of site personnel.
• Responsible for preventative maintenance programs and supporting minor capital projects including contractor management.
• Manage site aesthetics, and facilities to ensure a clean, orderly work environment.
• Maintain Quality standards to ensure all finished products meet customer expectations, internal specifications, and applicable regulatory requirements.
• Manage the execution of feed trials to qualify the potential for new and novel ingredients to be included in the diet at the BTC as well as future Jurupa Valley site.
• Drive a culture of continuous improvement to identify improvements that can reduce cost, improve efficiency, and deliver added value for the future operations in Jurupa Valley.
