The Opportunity
We are seeking an experienced Controller to support one of our clients based in Brantford, Ontario on a short-term contract basis. This is a hybrid role, requiring three days per week on-site in Brantford and two days remote.
This opportunity is ideal for a hands‑on finance leader who enjoys working closely with business owners and leadership teams, providing both operational oversight and strategic financial insight. You’ll play a key role in stabilizing and strengthening the client’s finance function during a critical period.
Key Responsibilities & Duties
- Oversee full-cycle accounting, including AP, AR, general ledger, and reconciliations
- Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements
- Manage cash flow, forecasting, and budgeting to support business stability
- Develop budgets, forecasts, and financial models
- Analyze financial results and provide actionable insights to leadership
- Identify efficiencies and cost‑saving opportunities
- Ensure compliance with GAAP / IFRS, tax regulations, and reporting requirements
- Coordinate audits and maintain strong internal controls
- Safeguard financial accuracy and company assets
- Establish and maintain clear accounting processes and procedures
- Provide financial and analytical support to leadership
- Prepare ad‑hoc reporting and support finance‑related initiatives as required
