As a Junior Business Development Associate, you will play a key role in driving our company's growth. You'll be responsible for generating leads, conducting market research, and building strong relationships with clients and partners. Your efforts will support strategic initiatives and contribute to the successful execution of business development projects This entry-level role offers a great opportunity to develop your skills and gain valuable experience in the field.

Responsibilities

  • Build and maintain a healthy base of leads and contacts through research and leveraging new and existing networks and contacts.
  • Participate in the growth of marketing initiatives that will generate leads.
  • Conduct market research to identify potential clients and industry trends.
  • Support the development and implementation of strategic plans and initiatives.
  • Build and maintain relationships with clients and partners.
  • Assist in the preparation of proposals and deliver presentations to potential clients and stakeholders as part of the bid team.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to ensure the successful execution of business development projects.
  • Track and report on the progress of business development activities.
  • Develop and implement a local business development strategy aimed at generating new business opportunities.
  • Establish and sustain strong, long-term relationships with existing and potential clients, developers, designers, and architects.
  • Stay informed about competitive developments, commercial real estate activities, and market trends.
  • Identify and cultivate new business leads through direct prospecting, networking at industry events, and active participation in various industry associations and professional groups.
  • Maintain an accurate customer relationship management system to effectively track call records, contact lists / targets, business development activities, and sales results.
  • Drive the sales process including lead generation, RFP coordination and pre-qualification, presentation of services and value propositions to clients, negotiation of agreement terms, and closing deals. Solicit the support of SKYGRiD Executive team as needed.
  • Follow up with clients throughout the execution of their projects and conduct post-mortem evaluations upon completion.
  • Meet with management quarterly to assess performance against targets, discuss sales leads and activities, and set or revise future benchmarks.
  • Collaborate internally with other departments such as the PM group and marketing, as well as with business development partners in other offices (Toronto, Vancouver).
  • Represent SKYGRiD as an ambassador by attending relevant industry events and conferences to enhance our profile and brand.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Marketing, or a related field in Construction.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Highly self-driven with a strong commitment to achieving success in your role independently
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Previous experience or internships or coop terms in business development or related fields is a plus.
  • Ability to travel inside and outside of Canada required.
