Your main responsibilities

  • Prepare and develop civil engineering drawings, plans, specifications, reports, and technical deliverables for municipal, land development, transportation, and infrastructure projects;
  • Support the design and drafting of civil infrastructure systems in collaboration with engineers, engineers-in-training (EITs), and multidisciplinary project teams;
  • Conduct construction inspections, field reviews, site visits, and prepare associated documentation and reports;
  • Assist with contract administration activities, including quantity take-offs, cost estimating, tender support, and review of contractor submissions;
  • Support project coordination and assist project managers with scheduling, communication, documentation, and project tracking activities;
  • Coordinate with clients, contractors, regulatory agencies, and other project stakeholders to support successful project delivery;
  • Review drawings and technical documents for completeness, accuracy, and compliance with applicable standards and project requirements;
  • Identify technical challenges and contribute practical, cost-effective solutions during the design and construction phases of projects;
  • Contribute to a collaborative, multidisciplinary team environment while supporting a variety of civil engineering projects across Atlantic Canada;
  • This position is remote; however, the successful candidate must be based in Atlantic Canada and available for occasional travel to project sites, client meetings, and regional offices as required;
  • Promote and apply Englobe's health and safety rules, policies, and procedures at project sites and offices, while taking every reasonable precaution to protect your own health and safety and that of fellow workers, clients, and the public.

What makes you unique

  • Diploma in Civil Engineering Technology or a related discipline;
  • Certified Engineering Technologist (CET) designation, or eligibility to obtain registration, is considered an asset;
  • 5+ years of relevant experience in consulting engineering, municipal infrastructure, land development, transportation, or a related civil infrastructure environment;
  • Experience in one or more of the following areas: civil design and drafting, construction inspection, contract administration, project coordination, and field services;
  • Proficiency with AutoCAD and Civil 3D;
  • Experience with stormwater management and hydraulic modeling software such as PCSWMM, HydroCAD, or similar software is considered an asset;
  • Strong understanding of civil engineering drawings, specifications, standards, construction practices, and contract documents;
  • Demonstrated organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple assignments and meet project deadlines;
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills and the ability to work effectively with clients, contractors, and multidisciplinary project teams;
  • Valid driver's licence and access to reliable transportation.
