Our client is an Engineering Firm recognized for delivering complex projects across the railroad industry and beyond. They design, build, install, and maintain custom systems and facilities in a wide range of environments — including diesel locomotive shops, wastewater treatment plants, fueling infrastructure, industrial machinery, and pharmaceutical facilities.

As an Electrical Engineer, you will support the development, deployment, and ongoing maintenance of innovative technical solutions for our clients. Working under the guidance of the Electrical Engineering Supervisor and senior management team, you will engage in a fast-paced and collaborative environment, contributing to multiple projects simultaneously. You will be expected to excel within a multidisciplinary team that includes electrical and mechanical engineers, EITs, drafting technicians, tradespeople, and administrative staff.

The ideal candidate brings proven experience with medium-voltage power distribution systems for large industrial or commercial facilities and is eager to expand their skills in controls engineering for industrial machinery. We are looking for someone who is enthusiastic, self-motivated, and adaptable, with the ability to take ownership at all stages of a project — from concept and design through to commissioning and turnover to the client.

c) Work with purchaser to ensure product is received in time for construction or assembly.

d) Evaluate multiple options based on technical, financial, and delivery considerations.

3. Site Supervision and Commissioning

a) Schedule and coordinate site installation of electrical equipment with contractors.

b) Provide construction engineering support services and address site issues.

c) Work with electricians and drafting department to maintain accurate record drawings.

d) Carry out on-site start-up and commissioning, including programming, commissioning checklists, client training, and signoffs.

e) Follow safe work practices and fill out and maintain proper safety documentation.

4. Troubleshooting and Repairs

a) Program and troubleshoot PLC code, HMI screens, CNC systems, building automation systems, etc.

b) Diagnose and repair electrical devices sent back from the field.

c) Actively participate in remote troubleshooting of site equipment and systems via telephone, cell modem, and other VPN techniques.
