Join a growing engineering consulting firm where your technical expertise, leadership, and ideas will have a direct impact on project success. We are seeking an Intermediate Civil Engineer (P.Eng.) to lead the design and delivery of land development and municipal infrastructure projects throughout Eastern Ontario. This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated professional who enjoys taking ownership of projects, mentoring junior team members, collaborating with clients and stakeholders, and delivering innovative, practical engineering solutions in a dynamic and supportive environment.

Key Responsibilities

Technical Design & Project Delivery

  • Lead the design and delivery of land development and municipal infrastructure projects from conceptual planning through construction.
  • Prepare, review, and take professional responsibility for engineering designs related to stormwater management, municipal servicing, site grading, and site development.
  • Perform hydrologic and hydraulic analyses using PCSWMM, EPANET, and other industry-standard software.
  • Prepare and review engineering reports, technical studies, servicing briefs, grading plans, and stormwater management reports.
  • Ensure all designs and deliverables comply with applicable municipal, provincial, and regulatory standards.
  • Collaborate with designers and drafters to develop accurate and high-quality Civil 3D drawings and models.

Project Coordination & Client Management

  • Act as a key point of contact for clients, municipalities, regulatory agencies, architects, planners, and multidisciplinary project teams across a variety of land development and infrastructure projects.
  • Lead or support municipal submissions, development applications, Environmental Compliance Approval (ECA) submissions, and approval processes.
  • Coordinate project deliverables, schedules, and technical requirements to ensure successful project execution.
  • Respond to municipal and agency review comments and revise designs as required.
  • Represent the firm at client meetings, stakeholder consultations, and regulatory discussions.

Quality Assurance & Technical Leadership

  • Conduct detailed reviews of engineering designs, reports, drawings, and calculations to ensure accuracy, quality, and consistency.
  • Lead or support quality assurance and quality control (QA/QC) processes across project deliverables.
  • Provide technical oversight and engineering guidance throughout all project phases.
  • Assist with the preparation of cost estimates, technical specifications, and supporting project documentation.

Mentorship & Team Development

  • Mentor, coach, and review the work of junior engineers, EITs, technologists, and designers.
  • Provide guidance on engineering standards, design best practices, modelling approaches, and project execution.
  • Foster a collaborative team environment focused on continuous learning and technical excellence.

Construction Support

  • Conduct site reviews, inspections, and field visits to support construction activities and project closeout requirements.
  • Respond to contractor inquiries, Requests for Information (RFIs), and construction-related technical issues.
  • Review shop drawings, as-built submissions, and construction documentation to ensure compliance with design intent.
  • Support the construction administration team by providing technical expertise throughout the construction phase.

The Ideal Candidate

The ideal candidate holds a degree in Civil Engineering and is a registered Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) in Ontario with a minimum of four years of progressive land development experience. You will possess strong technical expertise in site development, municipal servicing, stormwater management, and grading design, along with a thorough understanding of municipal standards, approval processes, and regulatory requirements within Ontario.

Proficiency with AutoCAD Civil 3D, PCSWMM, and/or EPANET is essential, as is experience preparing engineering reports, technical studies, and development approval submissions for land development projects. The successful candidate will have the ability to stamp and seal engineering drawings and reports, taking professional responsibility for design work and project deliverables.

You will demonstrate strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, excellent communication and relationship-building skills, and the capacity to manage multiple projects and deadlines in a fast-paced consulting environment. A keen attention to detail, commitment to quality, and proven leadership and mentorship capabilities are essential, along with a collaborative approach and passion for delivering practical, innovative engineering solutions.

What Will Make You Stand Out

  • P.Eng. Civil Engineer with strong knowledge of municipal approval processes and development regulations in Ontario
  • Experience with stormwater management principles
  • Stellar communication skills, both written and verbal, for presentations, client interactions, and technical reporting
  • Preference for a collaborative, professional, and close-knit team environment
  • Passion for mentoring junior team members and contributing to a culture of technical excellence and continuous improvement
