Our client, a leading financial institution, is seeking a Business Continuity Management (BCM) Advisor to support business continuity and risk management initiatives within their Capital Markets division. This role is ideal for professionals with a background in internal audit, risk assessment, and operational continuity within financial services.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain Business Continuity Management (BCM) plans, ensuring alignment with enterprise-wide BCM standards.
  • Conduct Business Impact Assessments (BIA) to evaluate potential risks and operational disruptions.
  • Design and execute testing exercises (work area recovery, contact exercises, and simulations) to validate business continuity strategies.
  • Assess internal controls and processes to ensure operational resilience within Capital Markets.
  • Partner with business and IT teams to identify operational risks and recommend solutions (excluding IT-specific risks).
  • Support regulatory and internal audit activities by tracking outstanding audit items and ensuring compliance.
  • Act as a key liaison between business lines, risk teams, and senior leadership during incident response situations.
  • Provide analytical insights on key risk indicators (KRIs) and recommend process improvements.
  • Facilitate cross-functional collaboration on risk management initiatives, ensuring business preparedness for potential disruptions.
  • Qualifications

    Required :

  • 2–4 years of experience in business continuity, risk management, internal audit, or a related field.
  • Strong understanding of operational risk in Capital Markets.
  • Experience in process improvement and testing controls.
  • Ability to analyze business processes and implement effective continuity strategies.
  • Nice to Have :

  • BCCP, CBCP certification.
  • CPA designation.
  • Familiarity with Canadian and US financial regulations.
  • Experience using Everbright software.
  • Summary
