Humans of HR is an upcoming boutique recruitment agency in Vancouver and is very quickly becoming the go-to agency for hiring and placement of skilled Professionals. We have two positions available - 1 year contract and a 3 years contract with a Public sector employer, with a strong chance of becoming permanent.

Our esteemed client seeks a Project Cost Controller extraordinaire to join their team. Dive into the heart of project management, where every day brings new challenges and opportunities for growth.

As a Project Cost Controller, you'll be the architect of financial success, working hand in hand with project teams to navigate the intricacies of budgeting, tracking, and forecasting. From the inception of projects to their triumphant conclusion, your keen eye for detail and passion for efficiency will shine.

Your journey will involve :

  • Crafting meticulous cost estimates and work breakdown structures, setting the stage for project success.
  • Championing change management processes to keep projects on course and prevent budgetary drift.
  • Delving into the depths of monthly cost and schedule analyses, offering sage advice to project leaders.
  • Aligning financial reporting with the grand vision of approved budgets, ensuring every penny is accounted for.
  • Partnering in the creation of captivating executive summaries and the smooth closure of completed projects.
  • Enforcing robust cost controls and serving as the guardian of project finances in the face of adversity.
  • Engaging in spirited discussions to clarify project costs and streamline processes.
  • Masterfully navigating the seas of purchase orders and change orders, ensuring smooth sailing for project execution.
  • Vigilantly reviewing scope changes and change order requests, safeguarding project integrity.
  • Embracing the challenge of invoice review and monthly accruals with grace and precision.
  • Pioneering new project control strategies and systems, forever seeking the pinnacle of efficiency.

Your toolkit should include :

  • A wealth of experience (5+ years) in the art of project cost control.
  • A solid foundation in project management fundamentals, with a thirst for continuous learning.
  • A wizard's proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint, capable of conjuring insights from data.
  • A knack for problem-solving and communication, serving as a beacon of clarity in stormy seas.
  • A tireless work ethic, fueled by a passion for excellence and a hunger for improvement.
  • A dash of creativity and a pinch of innovation, adding flair to every project endeavor.
  • Education and Experience :

  • Minimum : A technical qualification in business or engineering.
  • Preferred : Experience in project cost control, with familiarity in enterprise-wide systems like JD Edwards.
