Colonial Garage & Distributors Limited (DBA : Colonial Auto Parts) together with APM Limited are family owned and operated businesses and are the largest independent aftermarket parts suppliers in Atlantic Canada. The organization operates twenty locations in NL, NS and NB and employs over 140 staff members.
About the Role
The Human Resources Manager (HRM) is a member of the management team and plays a key role shaping the organization’s people practices. This is a hands-on role engaged in all facets of human resources, delivering HR services in an efficient and effective manner, fostering a culture of performance and employee engagement, aligned with the organization’s long held values of customer service, honesty and fairness.
Responsibilities
Human Resources (HR) Management
- Develop, implement, and oversee HR policies and procedures that align with, and contribute to, company strategic goals, direction and values
- Act as a trusted advisor, collaborator and source of HR expertise
- Develop, monitor and report on HR Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
- Develop feedback and other communications processes to promote employee engagement
Payroll and Benefits Administration
Employee Relations

Performance Management
