Assistant Plant Manager – Manufacturing Location : Ajax, ONJob Type : Full-time, OnsiteAbout the OpportunityAn industry-leading manufacturing company is looking for an Assistant Plant Manager to help oversee and optimize daily operations at its Ajax, ON facility. This role plays a key part in ensuring production runs smoothly, maintaining high safety and quality standards, and driving continuous operational enhancements. Reporting to the Plant and Operations Manager, this is a fully onsite position with a clear pathway for career advancement into senior leadership.Role HighlightsSupport plant operations, streamline processes, and drive Lean manufacturing initiatives to improve productivity.Maintain strict adherence to health and safety regulations, conduct audits, and address concerns proactively.Oversee product quality, collaborate with quality teams, and implement continuous improvement strategies.Supervise and mentor staff, foster teamwork, and provide training to enhance employee development.Ensure machinery is operational, coordinate maintenance schedules, and minimize downtime.Monitor inventory levels, coordinate procurement, and optimize material availability.Assist with budgeting, control costs, and drive efficiency without compromising quality or safety.Qualifications & SkillsBachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in a related field.8-10 years of experience in a similar roleStrong expertise in Lean manufacturing and process improvement methodologies.Proven track record in operations management and efficiency optimization.Excellent leadership, problem-solving, and communication skills.Ability to work onsite in Ajax, ON, five days a week.Why Join Us?Competitive compensation package.Comprehensive health, dental, and vision benefits.Three weeks of paid vacation.Performance-based bonus structure.If you’re an experienced manufacturing leader ready to take on a dynamic role with career growth potential, we’d love to hear from you!
