Job Skills / Requirements

Position : Full-Time Security Guard

Site : Perth District Hospital - 33 Drummond St W

Overtime Method : Averaging Agreement (AA) after 88 hours

Hours : 1 Daytime

Pay Rate : $21.27 / hour

Posting Date : November 1, 2024 (Internal)

Closing Date : November 7, 2024 (Internal) Schedule Example :

Daytime (Continental Rotation)Week 1 – 0700 - 1900 - Sunday to Wednesday Week 2 – 0700 - 1900 - Monday to Wednesday

Job Responsibilities

Conduct proactive and reactive security patrols

Respond to emergency situations (medical, fire, and security incidents)

Conduct patient watch as needed

Enforce site policies

Write detailed incident reports and maintain accurate records

Utilize advanced de-escalation techniques and manage aggressive behaviour

Operate both independently and as part of a team to ensure site safety and security

Performance additional duties as assigned

What We Are Looking For :

Must Have :

Valid Security License

First Aid & CPR Level C Certificate (from a WSIB-approved provider)

Ability to complete Vulnerable Sector Check (during onboarding)

Health Requirements :

Ability to be clean-shaven for N95 Mask Fit Test

Proof of minimum of two COVID-19 vaccination

A copy of your immunization records (Measles, Mumps, Rubella [MMR], Varicella, and TB Skin Tests - Step 1 & 2) Completed immunization for Measles, Mumps, and Rubella are required at the time of hire. Applicants who are not immunized or are otherwise unable to provide their MMR immunity at the time of hire will not be deemed eligible for the position.

Experience :

Security Industry (6 months – 1 year)

Healthcare experience is considered a strong asset.

Customer Service (minimum six (6) months)

Skills, Knowledge and Abilities :

Ability to stay calm in emergencies

Follow and enforce rules

Complete detailed reports

Handle extensive patrolling (including in various weather conditions)

Certifications :

Must be able to provide certifications in Use of Force (UoF) and Management of Aggressive Behaviour (MOAB) Applicants lacking these certifications can opt into Paladin's UoF / MOAB training program prior to their onboarding training to ensure they meet the requirements of the position Please be aware : The UoF / MOAB training is not paid as it is a pre-requisite, however Paladin will cover all of the costs of the training with a 6 month commitment to the position / availability
