The Prince George Native Friendship Centre (PGNFC) has grown and continues to be one of the largest and busiest community service delivery agencies in Prince George. Our clientele of Indigenous and non-Indigenous peoples have supported the Centre's program offerings for the last 50 years. The PGNFC provides culturally appropriate programming to meet the community's unique and diverse needs. We offer a wide variety of services, which includes education, employment, health, early childhood, and social programs.

RECEPTIONIST
Full Time - $22 / hr. - $25 / hr.)
Reporting to the Director of Finance, you will create and maintain premier public services and relations and will provide all internal and external customer groups and organizations with a positive and respectful first point of contact experience; and will perform a variety of administrative duties. You have an understanding and commitment to working with our community members that face multiple barriers.
Ideally you have :
- A minimum of 2 years of reception experience.
- Completion of an administrative office certificate or secretarial course preferred.
- A combination of education and experience will be considered
- Superior telephone manner and strong interpersonal skills.
- High flexibility with strong interpersonal skills that allow one to work effectively in a diverse environment.
- May encounter verbally abusive, aggressive and / or agitated individuals, both in person and on the telephone, therefore the ability to deal courteously, firmly, tactfully, and diplomatically with the public is a must.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office; Word, Excel and Outlook.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills. Ability to think critically and act logically to evaluate situations, solve problems and make decisions. Personable and have a positive attitude. Ability to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing. Ability to prioritize and manage conflicting demands. Ability to respond quickly in a dynamic and changing environment. Ability to work individually as well as a part of a team. Mathematical ability, accuracy, and attention to detail. Ability to operate a variety of office equipment. Ability to maintain confidentiality.
- CPI certification with a focus on verbal de-escalation or willingness to obtain.
- Clear Criminal Record Check is required.
