JomboneInvermere, British ColumbiaThe Role : As an LPN or RN in the Acute Care Medical-Surgical Unit, you will provide comprehensive nursing care to patients with diverse medical and surgical needs. This role involves close monitoring, administering treatments, and working collaboratively with an interdisciplinary team to support patient recovery and health. Your expertise will be essential in creating a safe, responsive, and patient-centered environment for individuals dealing with acute conditions and post-surgical care.
Responsibilities :
Deliver direct, high-quality care to patients, managing both acute and stable medical-surgical conditions in accordance with care plans and best practices.
Conduct thorough patient assessments, monitor vital signs, and recognize any changes in patient condition, escalating as needed.
Administer medications, wound care, and other treatments, while assisting with diagnostic tests and procedures as required.
Collaborate with the healthcare team to develop, implement, and adapt individualized care plans for each patient.
Educate patients and families on treatment plans, post-discharge care, and preventive health practices to promote recovery and overall well-being.
Maintain a safe and organized environment, following all clinical protocols, infection control measures, and unit procedures.
Requirements :
Current LPN or RN license in good standing within the province.
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required; ACLS certification is an asset.
Minimum of 2 years of recent experience in acute care, medical-surgical, or related nursing settings.
Strong clinical judgment, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to foster collaborative patient care.
Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment, prioritizing and managing multiple patient needs.
