Principal Accountabilities :
- Completing preventative, predictive, and reactive maintenance throughout the facility while working in a fast-paced environment around raw meat
- Complete scheduled quantitative preventative maintenance inspections on critical equipment
- Work independently and / or cooperatively with personnel of various departments to troubleshoot and resolve electrical, control and process systems problems
- Complete installation of new equipment
- Operating forklifts and / or scissor lifts
- Participate in meetings, training activities, and in the plant safety program
- Perform miscellaneous job-related duties
- Documenting completed work and the conditions found, utilizing maintenance computer software as necessary
- Exposure to wet and / or humid conditions in a warm or cool environment, as well as slippery surfaces at varied heights
- Standing for long periods of time, the use of stairs and ladders, and wearing personal protective equipment (PPE) in designated areas of the facility
- Understanding and adhering to all safety rules and regulations
- Maintaining a safe and clean work environment
- Other duties as assigned
Required Qualifications :
- Must be legally entitled to work for Cargill in Canada
- Cargill requires that employees be a minimum of 18 years old
- Ability to perform physical job duties which may include bending, lifting up to 50lbs, kneeling, climbing, crawling, and twisting safely, with or without a reasonable accommodation
- Ability to work in varied indoor and outdoor conditions which may include heat, cold, dust, loud noise, etc., with the use of personal protective equipment.
- Ability to work in elevated areas (4 feet and above)
- Ability to understand and communicate in English (verbal / written)
- Ability to operate machinery and / or industrial equipment with or without reasonable accommodation
- High School diploma or Equivalent
- Basic use of a computer
- Ability to work overtime including weekends, holidays, or different shifts with advance notice
- Pursuing or in possession of the Interprovincial Red Seal Electrician trade certification
- Knowledge of motor control and troubleshooting
- Experience with variable frequency drives and various type of sensors
- Basic knowledge of industrial safety, food safety and environmental regulations with absolute commitment to safety
Preferred Qualifications :
- Experience in the grain industry or related food industries
- Working experience with Modicon and Quantum PLCs
- Power distribution (V, 12.47kV and 69kV) equipment installation and operation
- Programming experience with ladder logic, function block, and structured text
- Experience with PROFIBUS, MODBUS and MODBUS+, Ethernet, fiber optic and industrial wireless communications installations and troubleshooting
- Knowledge and training in workplace electrical safety standards and arc flash hazards
- Forklift certification
- Experience with SAP or a Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS)
- Working knowledge of Microsoft office software, with an emphasis on Excel and Word
