“On-Call” staff are scheduled when our regular staff are away on vacation or on leave. Every day, VSOCC needs 15 - 30 casual staff in our :
Licensed Infant, Toddler, 3-5 group daycare and Preschool programsLicensed Before and After School programsIn addition to being a wonderful and positive person & team player, you must have :
Completed Grade 12 and be at least 19 years of ageECE Certification or ECE Assistants actively in training for ECE or Responsible Adult Certificate for School Age programBasic First Aid training and certificationTraining and experience in children’s programs, recreation, teaching, or in a related fieldValid work visa, permanent residency, or citizenship statusGood knowledge and understanding of age-appropriate programming and developmental needs of childrenGood knowledge and awareness of BC’s ELF and emergent curriculumExperience working with a diverse population of children and their familiesInitiative, creativity, and enjoy changeGood communication skillsAdditional skills and experiences may include :
Child care experience working in an inclusive child care settingInfant Toddler and / or Special Needs certification & license (or working towards it).Second LanguageTerms of Employment :
Salary : $22.15 – 22.95 per hour + 11.2% of salary in lieu of vacation and statutory holidays. In addition, you may be eligible for $6 per hour Provincial ECE Wage Enhancement for ECEs (holding ECE Basic, ECE IT, ECE SN, or ECE IT / SN)Casual / On-Call (up to 37.5 hours per week)Starting : As soon as possibleThis position is open to all applicants and is unionized with BCGEU
