Position overview

Are you a driven and innovative professional? We have a full time, 1 year term opportunity. As our Workplace Specialist , your success will be defined by your ability to combine a service-oriented mindset with an analytical approach.

Utilizing your expertise in workplace experience, you will oversee space planning, identify opportunities for amenities and services, and create a consistent experience throughout our worksite.

Your efforts will support our organizational values and behaviours will be embedded into our physical environment. Collaborating with cross-functional teams, you will operationalize your ideas, fostering a connected and engaged workforce, positively impacting workplace culture, and supporting our people in serving our community.

Key responsibilities include :

Workplace Design and Space Planning : Utilize your investigative mindset to deliver data-driven space planning and office allocations that cater to the diverse needs of our workforce.

Use data to both interpret user experience, and plan for future organizational needs.

  • Employee Connectivity : Develop and implement strategies to enhance employee connectivity within the workplace. Utilize your service-oriented background to identify opportunities for improving the employee experience, fostering teamwork, and promoting employee well-being.
  • Policies and Standards : Develop and implement workplace policies, procedures, and standards that support the organization's strategic priorities.

Assess the effectiveness of existing policies and identify areas for improvement. Ensure compliance with regulations and industry standards, promoting a safe and inclusive workplace culture.

  • Technology Integration : Stay up-to-date with emerging workplace technologies and leverage your knowledge to identify and implement innovative solutions, identifying opportunities to streamline processes, improve communication, and facilitate collaboration, enhancing the overall workplace experience.
  • Collaboration and Stakeholder Management : Collaborate with colleagues across various departments, such as Environment, Wellbeing, Information Technology, Health and Safety, and Maintenance, to align workplace initiatives with broader organizational goals.

Key qualifications include :

Associate degree or higher in business administration, human resources, facilities management, or a related field; with at least 5 years of relevant experience;

or an equivalent combination of training and experience.

  • Proven experience in workplace experience, workplace design, or related roles, with a strong service-oriented background.
  • Possess a systems mindset with the ability to leverage data and metrics to drive informed decision-making.
  • In-depth knowledge of workplace best practices, industry trends, and emerging technologies.
  • Strong collaboration and stakeholder management abilities, building effective relationships across diverse teams.
  • Excellent project management skills, including the ability to prioritize and manage multiple initiatives.

This position is open to both Vancouver Airport Authority employees and external applicants. Previous job performance will be taken into consideration for all internal candidates that apply for this position.

Salary Range : $72,008 to $ 94,115 per annum, based on a 37.5-hour work week. This is individually tailored to reflect your unique experience, qualifications and internal equity.
