Position: Security Operations Center Operator
Site: University Health Network West Park Healthcare
Hours: Continental Rotation (0700‑1900 / 1900‑0700)
Pay Rate: $24.22 per hour

Responsibilities
- Oversight of the security platoon as shift lead
- Orient guards to their respective roles
- Assist in tracking and deployment of security staff
- Monitor and operate command centre systems, including access control, CCTV, fire and life safety
- Make emergency overhead announcements
- Collaborate with the Security Coordinator on special projects
- Assist in training new staff
- Answer telephones and dispatch calls from the command centre
- Handle a variety of dispatch duties, including incident call taking
- Liaise with security staff, Paladin Operations Centre and assist with deployment
- Liaise with visitors, clients and staff
- Manage lost & found items
- Manage the issuance and return of facility keys and ID/access cards
- Issue visitor and contractor badges
Requirements
- A valid Ontario Security Guard License
- Proof of double Covid‑vaccination
- Immunisation record (measles, mumps, rubella, varicella and TB skin tests 1 and 2)
- Valid First Aid and CPR Level C Certification (WSIB approved)
- Willingness to complete N95 mask fit‑testing during training
- Vulnerable Sector Check
- Proficient in English (both oral and written)
- Experience working in a command or dispatch centre is an asset
- Good interpersonal skills with the ability to interact effectively at various social levels and across diverse cultures
- Ability to communicate clearly with clinical staff and the general public while conveying professionalism and authority at all times
- Legally authorised to work in Canada
- Ability to provide certifications in Use of Force (UOF) and Management of Aggressive Behaviour (MOAB)
- Applicants who do not possess these certifications may opt into Paladin’s UOF/MOAB certification program prior to onboarding to meet the position requirements
Please be aware: The UOF/MOAB certification is not paid as it is a pre‑employment requisite; however, Paladin will cover all training costs with a six‑month commitment to the position/availability.
