Intermediate to Senior Litigation Paralegal

We are looking for a detail-oriented, organized, and proactive Litigation Paralegal with at least 8 years of experience in litigation to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of the litigation process, possess strong interpersonal skills, and have the ability to manage multiple cases simultaneously. As a key member of the legal team, you will work closely with lawyers to prepare cases for trial and ensure smooth execution of all phases of litigation.

Responsibilities:

• Prepare, draft and file legal documents, including pleadings, questioning requests, responses, and applications
• Manage case files, organize documents, and track deadlines to ensure timely filings
• Coordinate and communicate with clients, witnesses, experts, and court personnel
• Maintain an up-to-date understanding of litigation procedures and applicable laws
• Manage client documents and records, coordinate and schedule meetings
• Communicate with internal and external contacts
• Receive and disburse funds and accurately account for same
• Work within a team environment
• Maintain records ensuring compliance with legal and procedural requirements including limitation dates
• Perform administrative duties specific to the team’s needs
• Prepare and manage billings for various lawyers

Qualifications:

• Post-secondary or a combination of work experience (minimum 8 years) in litigation
• Solid practice management experience working for multiple lawyers
• Commercial litigation experience is an asset
• Experience in PC Law and NetDocuments is an asset
• Experience with general due diligence
• Team oriented
• Highly organized
• Dependable and can also work independently
• Flexible and adaptable
