The Operations Tax and Estates team at Worldsource Financial Management handles all aspects of estate management and tax reporting, focusing on compliance, best practices, risk mitigation, and client needs to deliver timely, accurate operational service.
Responsibilities
- Administrating estate cases for our clients, varying from managing the initial notification of death, to partial / total estate disbursements, and estate residuals;
- Ensuring accurate processing of documents related to each type of account using a checklist and validating information prior to settlement;
- Following up incomplete documentation related to deceased clients, and suggesting appropriate alternatives if required documentation is not available;
- Processing estate settlement, consistently following the firm’s policy and procedures and best practices;
- Assisting with the creation and delivery of estate tax slips, and reviewing and updating documentation;
- Reviewing reports related to deficiency with tax reporting with assigned frequency, and ensuring data accuracy by working with internal teams to investigate and update systems;
- Participating in ad hoc projects / analysis or reporting as assigned;
- Testing system enhancements and new functionality as it relates to both tax reporting and estate administration; and
- Assisting in other areas within the department during cyclical periods.
Qualifications
Post‑secondary educationMinimum of 5 years of experience in registered plans tax reporting with an IIROC or MFDA dealerAdvanced Microsoft Office skills (Lookups, Index, Mail Merge, Match, Pivot Table and Macro)Excellent communication and organizational skillsExcellent attention to detail and problem‑solving skillsAbility to work independently as well as in a team environmentKnowledge of Dataphile is an assetCompensation
