Our Novitech team is growing, and we’re looking for a detail-oriented and analytical Data Analyst Trainee to join our team in our Vaughan, Ontario location. The Data Analyst Trainee supports the analysis of data collected by pipeline inspection tools while working under the guidance of experienced Analysis Leads. This role focuses on developing technical and analytical skills through hands-on training, assisting with the identification and characterization of pipeline features, and contributing to the preparation of accurate inspection reports. This position offers a unique opportunity to gain practical experience in data analysis within the oil and gas sector, with clear pathways for skill development and professional advancement.
Key Responsibilities
- Using Novitech’s display program, perform analysis of the data collected by our in-line inspection tools under the direct supervision of qualified Analysis Leads
- Develop a foundational understanding of ILI tool technology, inspection theory, and signal response behavior
- Interpret and assess inspection tool signals to identify, classify, and characterize pipeline features in accordance with established procedures and quality standards
- Complete assigned tasks with a high level of accuracy and perform Quality Assurance / Quality Control (QA / QC) checks on analysis outputs
- Maintain detailed and well-organized analysis records to support reporting and audit requirements
- Collaborate effectively with senior analysts, supervisors, and cross-functional teams to meet project timelines
- Communicate analysis findings clearly and professionally with internal stakeholders and, when required, external clients
- Adhere to company policies, safety standards, and data integrity requirements while demonstrating continuous improvement in analytical skills
