Job Overview

Reports to : Senior Operations Manager

Shift : 4x3, 10h a day

Location : Sparwood, BC

Relocation : This position does not offer relocation

Key Job Responsibilities

  • Provide safety and production supervision and instruction to shop employees for troubleshooting, repair and maintenance of P&H welding products
  • Receive, prioritize and approve bid packages with the Parts Planner, including providing quotes for mining component rebuilds with pricing and delivery
  • Solve welding technical problems related to customer welding issues, and implement designed upgrades to products during rebuild and or repair
  • Interface with peer members of the service department to provide seamless one face to the customer product support
  • Visit customers including attendance at meetings in support of commercial efforts to build the business
  • Maintain all aspects of Joy Global standards, including but not limited to, Safety, Human Resources, Global Quality Standards and Process
  • Point of contact for the mines requesting welding services on the mine site
  • Assign and supervise work tasks to welders, and labourers
  • Assist the Account Managers with technical support in selling the JGC value proposition
  • Assist the Field Foremen with manpower for day services and shutdowns etc.
  • Supervise mechanical component rebuilds, ensure all quality standards are met and required documents are kept up to date
  • Work with Parts Planner to ensure components are delivered on time

Qualifications / Requirements

  • Journeyman certification in Welding Trade; or equivalent years of experience.
  • Relevant experience & P&H product expertise in the field and shop
  • Understanding of a wide range of welding processes and products
  • Results-oriented team player with strong interpersonal skills
  • Ability to multi-task and meet objectives / deliverables
  • Ability to mentor and lead a team of trades personnel
  • Computer literacy - Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook / Teams
  • Report writing capabilities. Ability to understand FSR, PIR, CCR systems
  • Ability to read and interpret drawings with ease
