Our client is a dynamic Alberta-based company specializing in the engineering, design, testing, and commissioning of medium- to high-voltage electrical facilities. Focused on delivering cost-effective and efficient power system solutions, they are involved in a wide range of projects from early-stage engineering through to commissioning and startup.
Our client is currently seeking a highly motivated Electrical Engineering Technologist, Journeyman PSE, or Electrical Engineer to join their Field Services team on a full-time basis. If you are a strong communicator and problem-solver with exceptional attention to detail, this role offers a fast-paced environment with continuous exposure to all aspects of testing and commissioning.
Responsibilities :
Perform testing and commissioning of power system protection and control schemes within the utility, power generation, and oil & gas sectors.
Interpret drawings and troubleshoot technical issues.
Prepare and submit technical reports.
Assist in developing commissioning and startup procedures or work instructions.
Ensure compliance with corporate, client, and industry safety standards.
Respond to customer inquiries, investigate issues, and confirm resolutions.
Qualifications :
Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Power Systems Electrician Journeyman Ticket, or an Electrical Engineering Technologist Diploma from a recognized institution (summer students are welcome to apply).
Strong communication and interpersonal skills with a high level of attention to detail.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and strong computer skills.
Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
Strong analytical, risk assessment, and problem-solving abilities.
Willingness to work extended periods away from home.
Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
Background checks and Drug and Alcohol Pre-Access Testing required.
Additional Information :
Typical rotations include 4 / 3, 8 / 6, 10 / 4, and 14 / 7.
Standard working hours are generally 7 : 00am – 5 : 30pm (10-hour days).
Work hours and rotations may vary based on project requirements; flexibility is required.
