The Opportunity

WSP is growing and has a new opportunity for a Environmental Site Assessment Technical Report Author to join our Remediation Program Management team based in Winnipeg. This opportunity will allow you to evaluate risk and advise on contaminated sites impacted by hydrocarbons (diesel, gasoline, crude oil etc.). It is expected that you are self-motivated and will demonstrate strong time management and communication skills.

What you can expect to do here:
  • Participation in a team environment, working closely with and supporting Project Managers and Field Technicians.
  • Produce high quality written technical reports in support of large and small environmental site assessment, monitoring and remediation projects.
  • Preparation of Site closure documentation (detailed site investigations, regulatory forms).
  • QA/QC laboratory data then generate tables.
  • Compare the results to site-specific regulatory guidelines and/or protocols for reporting needs for the various Project Coordinators, Project Managers and Project Directors.
  • Generate and QA/QC regulatory checklists, forms and other documents in support of reporting requirements to meet the site-specific project needs of provincial regulations.
  • Create, execute and revise work plans to meet Project Manager's needs.

What you'll bring to WSP:
  • Bachelor's degree in related field (sciences and/or Engineering).
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in contaminated site assessments and downstream experience is considered an asset.
  • Sound understanding of the need for health and safety procedures in the workplace/Possess a safety conscious attitude.
  • Strong field experience is considered an asset.
  • Understanding of the Alberta, Saskatchewan and Manitoba Environmental regulations.
  • Professional designation is preferred.
  • Experience in the oil and gas sector will be an asset.
  • Preference will be given to those individuals with more extensive experience with respect to soil and groundwater monitoring programs, Phase I and II environmental site assessments, site remediation, and provincial regulations.


Compensation:
  • AB, BC, NT, NU, SK & YK: $69,700 - $92,300
  • MB & ON: $63,600 - $87,500
  • NB, NL, NS, PEI & QC: $62,900 - $83,600

The final salary awarded for this role may vary from the above range based on several factors including, but not limited to, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, geographic location, performance, and business or organizational needs.
