Overtime: to be paid in keeping with provincial employment standards

Education Requirements: Bachelor Degree in Accounting

Language Requirements: English

Experience Required for the Position: minimum 5 years’ or more of experience in an accounting related position

Terms of Employment: permanent/full time

Start date: ASAP

Work Settings: Office (on site – no option for remote work)

Transportation: Public transportation available

JOB DUTIES:

• Keep financial records and establish, maintain and balance various accounts using manual and computerized bookkeeping systems

• Maintain general ledgers and financial statements

• Post journal entries and reconcile accounts, prepare trial balance of books, maintain general ledgers and prepare financial statements

• Complete and submit tax remittance forms, workers' compensation forms, pension contribution forms and other government documents

• Prepare tax returns and perform other personal bookkeeping services

• Prepare other statistical, financial and accounting reports – monthly and annually

• Processing transactions for all areas including: Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Expense Reports and Client Billing and Trust

• Process client bills including verifying authorization levels for write offs and reversals, processing of write-offs, transfers or other corrections

• Process Accounts Receivable payments including posting receipts and processing bank and credit card deposits

• Process trust transactions including deposits, payments and incoming and outgoing wire transfers as needed

• Process and monitor GIC investments

• Processing and reconciling disbursements

• Preparing final invoices to be sent to client

• Limitation memos

• Backup Payroll processing using Nethris

Computer and Technology Knowledge Required:

• Knowledge of Law Society of Alberta trust rules preferred
