About the Internship: Our internship program welcomes interns who are completing their clinical requirements for a Master’s degree in Counselling, Clinical Social Work, Psychology, or a related field.
We are currently offering ten (10) vacancies for intern therapists who will play a critical role in serving vulnerable clients and supporting a wide range of clients by providing individual, couple, family, and group therapy counselling services.
Services are offered to meet the needs of clients and within parameters set by the agency.
Interns take part in providing counselling services in our Drop-In Single-Session Counselling (DISSC) program (at The Family Centre and at partner sites) and subsidized ongoing therapy to clients presenting with a wide variety of presenting concerns.
There may also be opportunities to support in schools, helping to reduce the cost of therapy for clients.
This internship experience is designed to provide comprehensive training and support for interns as they complete their clinical requirements.
Additionally, the following requirements must be met: Police Information Check - Vulnerable Sector (completed within the last 6 months of the start date) Child Intervention Records Check (completed within the last 6 months of the start date) ASIST Suicide Intervention Training or another recognized suicide intervention program, required within 2 months of start date Trans Wellness Initiative Introduction to Affirming Spaces Training, completed prior to start of internship Duration of Internship: Interviews for the January 2027 - August 2027 Cohort will begin in July 2026 and orientation and shadowing will begin in December 2026. The internship is scheduled to last between eight (8) to ten (10) consecutive months, with a commitment of 20+ hours per week.
