Part Time Jr / Sr high Online Science / Option teacher

Overview

Online Part-Time Jr / Sr High Teacher (approximately 0.2 fte). Yellowhead Christian School (YCS@Home) is seeking an Online Part-Time Jr / Sr High Teacher to start immediately for the 2025 / 2026 school year with the possibility of extending for future years. This position includes facilitating and marking online options classes (courses and suggested answers provided) and online teaching science classes for Jr / Sr high school students. These assignments can be one position or separated into two assignments. Our online program (YCS@Home) serves students in Grades 7-12. YCS is based in Edson, AB, 200 km West of Edmonton and about an hour from the Rocky Mountains. This position can be remote.

Responsibilities

• Facilitate and mark online options classes (courses and suggested answers provided).
• Teach science classes to Jr / Sr high school students in an online format.
• Manage assignments as either a single role or two separate roles.
• Engage students using lessons, discussions and audio-visual presentations.
• Design effective strategies to meet diverse learning needs.
• Demonstrate strong, positive interpersonal and communication skills.
