Job description

Position Overview

Under the general direction of the Program Support Manager(s), Rehabilitation Services (or designate), and while demonstrating a commitment to the Mission, Values and Management Philosophy of St. Boniface General Hospital, the Receptionist II is responsible for performing receptionist duties for Rehabilitation Services Department (Communication Disorders, Occupational Therapy, Physiotherapy); scheduling patient appointments; pre-registering patients and maintaining related information; providing general office support; and performing other related duties as assigned.

Experience

  • One (1) year related experience in a patient care setting.

Education (Degree / Diploma / Certificate)

  • Grade 12, or recognized equivalent.
  • Certification / Licensure / Registration

    Qualifications and Skills

  • Keyboarding speed : 45 wpm.
  • Knowledge of computer systems and proficiency in the use of common software including : Word processing and email applications. Ability to read, write, speak and understand English.
  • Demonstrated ability to respond to a variety of simultaneous demands.
  • Demonstrated ability to interact well with others and work effectively in a team environment.
  • Respectful and courteous telephone manner.
  • Ability to retain information which is of a confidential nature.
  • Demonstrated ability and willingness to work in a stressful environment that may include aggressive and / or agitated individuals.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
