Position Summary

This position delivers systems training for a range of justice and public safety staff, with a primary focus on the JUSTIN and CORNET systems. Working closely with the Systems Instructor / Coordinator, the role supports effective and consistent training delivery during periods of high training demand. The position is engaged on an as-needed basis and is primarily focused on direct instruction, learner assessment, and support for training development and seed data requirements. The role ensures training environments, materials, and technology are fully prepared and functional, maintains accurate training records, and identifies classroom or curriculum issues to support continuous improvement.

In addition to instruction, the role may contribute to the development and ongoing enhancement of systems training materials. This includes updating learning objectives, lesson plans, exercises, assessments, and reference tools aligned with job competencies, policies, and procedures. The position may also support system testing, maintains training databases and materials, participates in working groups as required, and prepares training-related reports and updates. Occasional travel may be required.

Qualifications & Requirements

• Post-secondary diploma or degree in a related field or an acceptable equivalent level of training and experience;
• Extensive, recent working knowledge of CORNET and JUSTIN systems, and a minimum of 2 years recent experience using CORNET and JUSTIN as an administrative office staff, adult / youth probation officer, adult / youth corrections officer;
• Knowledge of Adult or Youth Custody / Community Corrections policies, procedures and standards related to systems.

What JIBC Offers

Salary Range : $41.84 per hour (CCSD Instructor Sessional Hourly Rate), with an option to participate in the College Pension Plan.

Employment Type : Sessional Instructor.

Work Arrangements : This is an on-site, in-person instructional role at the New Westminster Campus that will also include some virtual facilitation. Sessional Instructors are casual employees with no guarantee of ongoing or regular work. Assignments may be offered in advance of each term or on an ad-hoc basis throughout the term, depending on program needs.
