Engineering Technician (Office Engineer)

Overview

This is a Direct Hire Authority (DHA) solicitation utilizing the DHA for Certain Personnel of the DoD Workforce to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to positions in the competitive service.

About the Position

About the Position : Serve as an Office Engineer responsible for construction project and contract management, technical review of planned work and work in progress, development of changed scopes of work, cost estimates, review of contract modification documents, and negotiations with contractor.

Responsibilities

• Maintain surveillance over construction projects to assure that all items of work are in conformance with contract plans and specifications.
• Conduct appropriate surveillance of contractor workmanship, regulatory plans, methods and practices to ensure compliance with plans and specifications on all phases of construction work.
• Ensure compliance by contractor with safe working conditions and practices.
• Serve as Contracting Officer’s Representative (COR) and fully execute responsibilities as assigned.
• Prepare modifications documents, including estimates and analysis for design changes, differing site conditions, and changes in specifications and drawings.
