PURPOSE SUMMARY :

The Integrated Media Manager (IMM) at Compassion Canada is a key leadership position within the Marketing & Digital Growth division, responsible for developing and executing comprehensive creative media strategies across digital, social, and traditional platforms.

This role focuses on crafting and overseeing engaging, high-quality content that drives awareness, engagement, and mobilization in line with organizational objectives related to digital growth.

The IMM ensures that all creative assets are strategically aligned with Compassion Canada's brand and mission, working across multiple channels to enhance the organization's presence and impact.

By leading a multidisciplinary team and coordinating with specialized staff members and project managers, the IMM drives integrated media efforts that effectively engage audiences and support the overall digital growth strategy.

TASKS & RESPONSIBILITIES

Strategic Leadership & Team Management :

Oversee a team of digital media professionals, including social media strategists, video producers, designers, and multimedia specialists.

This team supports various cross-disciplinary working groups across the organization, ensuring all efforts align with Compassion Canada's strategic goals.

  • Set strategic direction for the team to ensure their creative efforts effectively support organizational objectives and cross-functional initiatives.
  • Promote a culture that values both creative excellence and personal growth, encouraging innovation and risk-taking.
  • Balance the needs between core marketing functions and broader organizational objectives.
  • Optimize resource allocation and manage project timelines to maintain high standards of quality and timely delivery.

Digital Content & Social Media Strategy :

  • Lead the development and execution of a comprehensive content strategy for social media and blogs, and work with other departmental managers to ensure consistency with other channels such as email, web and newsletters.
  • Ensure content is optimized for SEO, engagement, and audience growth.
  • Work closely with the Brand & Product Experience team, the Editorial & PR Manager and editorial team to align digital content with broader storytelling and communication objectives.
  • Ensure a cohesive approach to content that reflects Compassion Canada’s voice and mission across all platforms.
  • Oversee the planning, creation, and execution of social media campaigns to enhance brand awareness and community engagement.
  • Leverage the expertise of social media strategists to ensure all activities align with organizational goals.

Traditional Media & Digital Strategy Integration :

  • Develop strategies that integrate traditional media with digital content efforts, creating a unified, multi-channel approach.
  • Collaborate with design and multimedia teams to ensure consistency and strategic alignment across all media.
  • Partner with senior leadership to support the development of national, channel, and neighbor campaigns, aligning departmental efforts with broader organizational goals.

Collaboration & Cross-Functional Leadership :

  • Act as a liaison between the creative team and other departments (Growth Marketing, Editorial & PR) to ensure integrated and cohesive campaign approaches.
  • Develop optimized systems and processes to enhance collaboration across all functions.
  • Oversee relationships with external consultants, freelancers, and partners to support creative and media strategies, ensuring consistency with Compassion Canada’s brand and content strategy.
  • Implement feedback mechanisms and conflict resolution processes to maintain a cohesive team dynamic.
  • Encourage open communication and proactive problem-solving within the team and with other departments.

Data & Insights :

Utilize analytics, social listening tools, and emerging trends to assess the effectiveness of digital content and social media strategies.

Adjust tactics based on data to improve engagement and impact.

Ensure active testing and evaluation of new social channels and content formats to reach existing and new audiences effectively.

General Support :

Contribute to achieving division and department goals, taking on additional duties as requested to support overall success.

WHAT YOU BRING MATTERS

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

  • Post secondary education in Marketing, Business, or a related field is required or equivalent experience.
  • A minimum of five (5) years of experience in leading national or large-scale marketing campaigns, demonstrating the ability to develop and execute strategies that drive significant audience engagement and achieve measurable growth across multiple channels.
  • Proven experience in developing and implementing integrated strategies that encompass social media, digital content, and traditional media, ensuring cohesive messaging and maximizing reach and impact.
  • Strong track record of successfully leading cross-functional teams, coordinating efforts across departments, and aligning creative outputs with organizational objectives to support both marketing and broader institutional goals.
  • Demonstrated expertise in content strategy, development, and curation, with a deep understanding of audience engagement tactics, SEO, and digital content distribution methods.

WORKING CONDITIONS

  • Remote-First Employment : All staff who are not in-office essential default to remote or telecommuting depending on their distance to the Compassion office.
  • Travel and Overtime may be required
