Job Description
Role Overview :
This role will be responsible for translating business needs into technical requirements, managing logical data models, and working closely with ingestion and curation teams.
This role requires a deep understanding of :
- Logical data modeling
- Complex metadata management
- Developing, managing, and aligning technical data requirements
- Data curation
- Data governance
About the role :
- Collaborate with business leaders to define requirements and priorities and to proactively understand and update metric logic and definition
- Develop technical requirements (e.g., aggregation level, granularity) based on metrics established by business teams
- Design logical data model and orchestration requirements
- Own and manage logical data model for the Enterprise Analytics team in tandem with ingestion and curation leads
- Oversee data catalog entries and enforce data cataloging rules
- Manage access controls for end data products
- Manage change requests to the structure, definitions and / or security of identified data objects
- Communicate with the Business Data System Owner and Business Data Steward on metric updates
- Act as escalation point for Data Quality Analysts when defined processes are insufficient to resolve issues
About you :
- Hold a Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, statistics, economics, or MBA
- Bring 3+ years of experience in data engineering or data analysis
Have hands-on experience with and understanding of the following :
- Python or other programming language
- Data bricks or other cloud data management platform
- Technical and business data cataloging
- Logical data modeling, including experience designing logical data models
- ETL / ELT tools such as Apache Airflow
- Data dictionary development
- Bring proven experience in data management, requirements management, and metadata management
