Are you a strategic thinker with a passion for job evaluation (classification)? The City of Edmonton is looking for a Position Evaluation Program Lead to join our Position Evaluation and Recruitment Services team.
In this role, you will act as a bridge between high-level strategy and tactical execution, ensuring our classification framework is modern, defensible, and consistently applied. You will lead high-impact projects, such as modernizing our classification and job evaluation framework and implementing new Job Architecture tools.
What will you do?
- Translate strategic direction from senior leadership into actionable project plans and deliverables for job evaluation (classification) and job design initiatives
- Lead the end-to-end project management of large-scale modernization efforts, including the implementation of the Job Architecture System (JAS) and Korn Ferry methodology
- Provide high-level technical oversight for complex job evaluations and job design requests to ensure internal equity across the organization
- Provide leadership and technical expertise during classification appeals and umpire cases
- Facilitate education sessions for business leaders and union representatives on classification processes and the Korn Ferry methodology
- Develop and maintain critical project documentation, risk logs, and data integrity within centralized HR systems
- Collaborate with HR Business Partners and union representatives to resolve contentious issues regarding jurisdictional placement and job evaluations
Qualifications
University degree or diploma in Human Resources, Business, or a related discipline; a combination of relevant education and experience may be consideredA minimum of seven (7) years of Human Resources experience, including two (2) years of directly relevant experience in job evaluation (classification), or a related areaAssets
Completion of the Korn Ferry training program or a working-level understanding of the Korn Ferry methodologySkills required for success
Experience working in a large multi-union environmentExperience designing and / or modifying classification frameworksProven ability to analyze ambiguous, complex, and conflicting information to develop defensible solutionsExceptional communication skills, both oral and written, with the ability to persuade collaborators on precedent-setting mattersStrong presentation skillsStrong relationship-building skills with the ability to work effectively with various collaboratorsProficiency in the Google work environment and experience using HR Information Systems such as PeopleSoftSeasoned consulting skills to help business leaders meet their workforce goalsApplicants may be testedAlignment to our Cultural Commitments and Leadership Competencies ( https : / / bit.ly / 4brRrXm )Embracing a culture of equity, diversity, reconciliation and inclusionWork Environment

Salary Range : $108,839.00- $136,047.00 (Annually)
