Personal Support Worker (PSW) – Stouffville / Markham Area

Join Compass Homecare as a Personal Support Worker in the Stouffville and Markham area. Compass Homecare delivers guided home‑care solutions that respect dignity and compassion, providing high‑quality care for clients across the GTA.

Job Summary

Your role will involve reporting to the Client Services Coordinator and delivering a high standard of care that keeps clients safe and comfortable in their homes. Services are outlined in personalized care plans.

Responsibilities

Assist clients with personal care (bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, mobility support), activities of daily living, meal preparation, medication reminders, light housekeeping, and laundry

Accompany clients on outings, appointments, shopping, and errands where applicable

Provide companionship

Act as respite for families

Maintain daily documentation in electronic chart

Create a safe, respectful, and inclusive environment for all clients

Communicate effectively with clients, families, and healthcare teams

Qualifications

Proficient English communication (verbal and written)

Multilingual skills are an asset

Ability to travel to clients by transit or car

Personal Support Worker Certificate from a recognized Ontario program or equivalent (RPN, RN, foreign‑trained professional)

Previous PSW experience is an asset

Access to internet / mobile phone

Negative TB skin test or chest X‑ray within the last 6 months

Current CPR and First Aid certificate

Vulnerable Sector Screen within 12 months

Up‑to‑date vaccinations : Covid‑19, MMR, Tdap, Polio, Varicella, Hepatitis B

Compass Homecare requires proof of full vaccination for Covid‑19.
