We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Commercial Property Underwriter to join our client's team on a contract basis. As a pivotal member of their team, you will be responsible for meticulously reviewing and documenting underwriting decisions.
Your expertise will contribute significantly to the implementation of AI-enabled digital solutions, thereby reshaping the landscape of commercial insurance worldwide.
Key Responsibilities :
- Underwriting Analysis : Conduct thorough analysis of commercial property insurance applications, assessing risks, and determining appropriate coverage based on established guidelines and best practices.
- Documentation : Document underwriting decisions accurately and comprehensively, ensuring clarity and transparency for internal stakeholders and regulatory compliance.
- Risk Assessment : Evaluate complex commercial property risks, including buildings, contents, and associated exposures, to determine appropriate underwriting strategies and pricing.
- Collaboration : Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams including actuaries, data scientists, and IT professionals to contribute to the development and implementation of AI-enabled digital solutions.
- Quality Assurance : Ensure underwriting processes adhere to company policies, industry regulations, and quality standards, actively identifying areas for improvement and implementing enhancements as needed.
- Knowledge Sharing : Share expertise and insights with team members, providing guidance and mentorship to junior underwriters to foster professional growth and development.
Requirements :
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Insurance, or related field; relevant professional certifications (e.g., CIP, CPCU, AU, ARM) preferred.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in commercial property underwriting within the insurance industry, with a proven track record of sound decision-making and risk assessment.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data and make data-driven underwriting decisions.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
- Proficiency in utilizing underwriting tools and software applications; experience with AI-enabled digital solutions is a plus.
- Detail-oriented mindset with a commitment to accuracy and quality in documentation and underwriting processes.
