Structural Engineer

Overview

Our client, a multidisciplinary design and engineering firm with a strong presence in Western Canada, is seeking a Structural Engineer to be based out of their Vancouver office. This is a permanent, full-time role, offering a base salary commensurate with experience (CA$85,000.00 / yr - CA$125,000.00 / yr), along with a competitive vacation and benefits package. This position will play a key role in structural design and calculations, preparing drawings and construction services.

Responsibilities

• Perform structural analysis and design for a variety of municipal, residential, commercial, and industrial projects, including existing buildings and structures
• Complete structural calculations and prepare and edit structural specifications
• Review engineering design for compliance with established codes, standards, and specifications; provide technical support to designers and drafters
• Prepare reports and other technical documentation as required by the client
• Communicate with clients, vendors, and contractors
• Support senior staff with inter-discipline coordination, project reporting, and structural analysis and design
• Coordinate with technical staff in preparation of contract drawings and documents and other work tasks
• Coordinate structural designs and documents with other disciplines (Architectural, Civil, Mechanical, Electrical, and Landscaping, etc.)
• Provide structural engineering support during construction, attend site meetings, and carry out field reviews
• Other duties as assigned
