AVL TSI Canada, part of AVL Test Systems, Inc., is seeking an experienced Application Engineer to support a customer in Ontario.

The Application Engineer II will commission test systems, integrate subsystems for complex testing requirements, and focus on testing & application development for E-Drive systems. This includes troubleshooting and developing solutions, with a focus on electrification markets such as battery testing / emulation, inverters, eMotors, and eAxles.

Candidates must manage projects on-site, work with a Project Manager on cost and time estimates, and have 3-5+ years of related experience in electrification, electronics, or software. Excellent customer service and communication skills are essential due to direct customer interaction. Travel will be approximately 30-45%.

Applicants must have unrestricted authorization to work in Canada; sponsorship is not available.

Qualifications and Skills

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or equivalent; Master’s preferred
• 3-5+ years of relevant experience
• Experience with test automation equipment, instrumentation, electrical processes, testing methods, and applications
• Ability to read electrical and mechanical schematics
• Background in electrification, power electronics, or testing
• Strong software adaptation skills
• Excellent communication skills
• Knowledge of PC operations, Windows, and networking
