Purpose

The Senior Talent Development Specialist reports to the Director, Talent Acquisition & Development and is a driving force in creating impactful learning experiences.

They are responsible for designing comprehensive talent development programs and curricula that foster individual growth, organizational effectiveness, and a culture of engagement.

A focus on cultivating leadership skills and capabilities within an organization's leaders and aspiring leaders. They design and implement programs aimed at developing leadership competencies such as communication, decision-making, strategic thinking, and team building.

Adept in adult education and digital learning systems, the Senior Talent Development Specialist requires a strategic mindset, excellent communication skills and a passion for talent development.

Key Areas of Accountability

Program Development

Collaborate with department heads and senior management to assess training needs and develop talent development strategies aligned with organizational goals

  • Partner with People & Culture Business Partners to integrate talent development initiatives with other P&C processes such as performance management and succession planning
  • Standardize curricula format and templates for streamlined content creation.

Instructional Design & Digital Learning Solutions

  • Design, implement and facilitate training programs, workshops to enhance employee skills, knowledge and performance end-to-end learning programs with a focus on leadership development programs, workshops, and curriculum, integrating effective instructional design principles.
  • Establish a governance framework and processes for the Learning Management System (LMS).
  • Train and support LMS users, serving as the primary contact.
  • Utilize technology to create compelling digital training content.
  • Conduct remote e-learning sessions and build a library of recorded content.
  • Manage online modules and learning artifacts using the LMS.
  • Ensure accurate tracking of training records and certifications.

Training Facilitation

  • Facilitate dynamic classroom and virtual training, employing adult learning principles.
  • Foster collaborative relationships to ensure high-quality learning experiences.
  • Assist in crafting effective training-related communications.

Qualifications

Experience

  • Minimum 3-5 years’ demonstrated experience designing and facilitating diverse training programs and curriculum.
  • Strong grasp of effective teaching methodologies and instructional design.
  • Familiarity with LMS governance and functionality.
  • University degree or diploma in Adult Education, Instructional Design, Organizational Development, Human Resources, Psychology, Business Administration, or a related field

Skills

  • Proficient in LMS administration and MS Office.
  • Exceptional project management abilities.
  • Skilled presenter with adaptability to engage diverse audiences and delivery methods.
  • Strong written and verbal communication, including technical writing.
  • Effective in fast-paced, ambiguous environments.

Compensation

  • The base salary offered for this role is $83,700 to $90,000 per annum and can vary based on job-related expertise, qualifications, experience and internal equity.
  • Eligible for Rocky Mountaineer’s Bonus Program
