Who we are

About Stripe

Stripe is a financial infrastructure platform for businesses. Millions of companies from the world’s largest enterprises to the most ambitious startups use Stripe to accept payments, grow their revenue, and accelerate new business opportunities.

Our mission is to increase the GDP of the internet, and we have a staggering amount of work ahead. That means you have an unprecedented opportunity to put the global economy within everyone’s reach while doing the most important work of your career.

About the team

The core applications team at Stripe owns, integrates, administers and maintains the systems that keep Stripe running smoothly (Google Workspace, Slack, Jira, Confluence and Dropbox, etc).

Your work will connect Stripes from around the world and contribute directly to the company’s mission of increasing the GDP of the internet.

As a SaaS Operations Engineer on the core applications team, you will play a critical role across our entire portfolio of third party applications, running both cloud and on premise.

You'll enable all Stripes to work better together : more efficiently, productively, and collaboratively, while maintaining Stripe's high security bar.

What you'll do

You will act as the service owner for multiple company-wide SaaS applications. You will act as a solutions architect and strategist for the SaaS applications and services that Stripe relies upon.

You will take action on escalations from our partner teams. You will participate in an on-call rotation. You will work in two week Sprints.

Responsibilities

  • Act as a final escalation point from Helpdesk agents for issues with CoreApps owned systems
  • Directly integrate (and support efforts to integrate) SaaS applications with other parts of Stripe’s corporate technology stack
  • Partner with teams across Stripe to transition ownership of SaaS applications into the Corporate Technology organization
  • Lead projects to audit and optimize our SaaS portfolio, focusing on improvements to security, permissions, automation, scalability, end-user experience, and license usage
  • Participate in renewal conversations with our vendor partners
  • Develop programs or processes to communicate and drive adoption of new product features company-wide
  • Participate in regular interviews with our user population to understand pain points, and use their feedback as an input into our strategic roadmap
  • Design creative solutions, advocate for best practices, and lead by example as a service owner as Stripe evolves and scales in complexity
  • Help grow and mentor others in the corporate technology organization
  • Participate in an on-call rotation

Who you are

We’re looking for someone who meets the minimum requirements to be considered for the role. If you meet these requirements, you are encouraged to apply.

The preferred qualifications are a bonus, not a requirement.

Minimum requirements

  • 5+ years of relevant technical experience in system administration or engineering
  • Expertise managing Google Workspace and other enterprise productivity applications (e.g., Slack / Dropbox / Jira / Confluence)
  • Strong organizational and task management skills
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, both written and verbal
  • An empathetic, humble, and user-focused demeanor
  • Ability to plan, manage, code, and support multiple, concurrent projects and initiatives
  • Comfort working in a fast paced and rapidly changing environment
  • Proficient in either Python, Javascript or Go

Preferred qualifications

  • Experience working with REST API endpoints using various authentication methods (OAuth, JWT, API keys / secrets, Basic auth, etc.)
  • Google Professional Google Workspace Administrator or Professional Collaboration Engineer Certification
  • Slack Admin and / or Developer Certification
  • Experience with GCP

Hybrid work at Stripe

This role is available either in an office or a remote location (typically, 35+ miles or 56+ km from a Stripe office).

Office-assigned Stripes spend at least 50% of the time in a given month in their local office or with users. This hits a balance between bringing people together for in-person collaboration and learning from each other, while supporting flexibility about how to do this in a way that makes sense for individuals and their teams.

A remote location, in most cases, is defined as being 35 miles (56 kilometers) or more from one of our offices. While you would be welcome to come into the office for team / business meetings, on-sites, meet-ups, and events, our expectation is you would regularly work from home rather than a Stripe office.

Stripe does not cover the cost of relocating to a remote location. We encourage you to apply for roles that match the location where you currently or plan to live.

Pay and benefits

The annual salary range for this role in the primary location is C$132,200 - C$198,200. This range may change if you are hired in another location.

For sales roles, the range provided is the role’s On Target Earnings ( OTE ) range, meaning that the range includes both the sales commissions / sales bonuses target and annual base salary for the role.

This salary range may be inclusive of several career levels at Stripe and will be narrowed during the interview process based on a number of factors, including the candidate’s experience, qualifications, and specific location.

Applicants interested in this role and who are not located in the primary location may request the annual salary range for their location during the interview process.

Specific benefits and details about what compensation is included in the salary range listed above will vary depending on the applicant’s location and can be discussed in more detail during the interview process.

Benefits / additional compensation for this role may include : equity, company bonus or sales commissions / bonuses; retirement plans;

health benefits; and wellness stipends.
