  • Ensures project specifications and drawing packages are in alignment to protect the interests of the client through peer reviews prior to tender.
  • Ensures a fair and neutral interpretation of construction contracts as they relate to contract administration matters once the contract is set.
  • Other duties as required.

WHAT YOU’LL BRING

  • Post-secondary education in engineering, technology, construction management, or a related discipline. Equivalent experience in the construction industry working with a systems integrator or contractor will also be considered.
  • Strong understanding of building codes and industry standards, with hands-on experience installing, commissioning, and / or inspecting IMIT systems such as structured cabling, communication systems, security systems, AV, and building automation systems.
  • Advanced skills in MS Office, Bluebeam (or equivalent markup tools), construction documentation management platforms (e.g. Procore, Fieldwire, Part 3, etc).
  • Experience with AutoCAD and Revit would be considered an asset.
  • Ability to produce clear, detailed site observation reports and contract administration documentation (e.g., progress draw reviews, quote reviews, deficiency lists).
  • Strong documentation control / management skills.
  • Ability to independently resolve site issues and manage contract interpretation fairly and neutrally.
  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills with the ability to interact effectively with clients, contractors, and internal teams.
  • Time and scope management with a proven ability to deliver projects on schedule.
  • Continuous learning mindset with an awareness of market trends and industry developments in IMIT and building systems.
