Electrical Engineer

MCW is currently looking for a self-motivated Electrical Engineer to join our Winnipeg office. This position plays a key role in developing design documentation and project management of electrical engineering projects of various sizes and complexity in education, institutional, recreational, multi-family residential commercial, health care spaces and industrial buildings to deliver energy-saving, safe, and cost-effective solutions to clients. The Electrical Engineer will require strong leadership, collaboration and communication skills. In addition to engineering design, you will be called upon to contribute to proposals, resource planning, quality assurance and technical review of many projects within the MCW Group of Companies. Location : Winnipeg, Manitoba (On-Site)

Responsibilities

The responsibilities of this position include but are not limited to the following :

• Prepare the system concept report, complete load calculations, schematics and equipment selection.
• Electrical design of building systems, including lighting, power distribution, life safety, standby power, fire alarm, electronic safety and security and communications systems with minimal direction.
• Create construction documentation for projects, in collaboration with production staff and junior designers.
• Coordinating with other consulting disciplines to ensure drawing integrity and completeness.
• Oversight of quality assurance and timely delivery of finished products.
• Reviewing architectural, interior designs and structural drawings.
• Working with contractors and responding to technical inquiries.
• Providing technical and administrative support through all phases of the project.
• Helping to establish, maintain and promote client relationships.
