Laboratory Facilitator, Chemistry (On-Call)

$32.04 per hour (with wage increments to a max of $36.06 per hour). Salary and wage increments are in accordance with the Collective Agreement.

  • Excellent working knowledge of the operation and routine maintenance of laboratory equipment and apparatus together with good working knowledge of safety measures related to the operation of the Chemistry laboratory, including WHMIS.
  • Good working knowledge of English (written and verbal).
  • A demonstrated ability to:
    • communicate courteously and effectively in person, in writing and over the telephone with students, faculty, administrators, staff, and the public.
    • work independently with minimum direct supervision.
    • establish priorities and achieve deadlines.
    • effectively demonstrate proper laboratory techniques.
    • maintain current knowledge in the field of chemistry.
    • maintain a high degree of confidentiality.

  • This on‑call position is available starting January 5, 2026.
  • Hours of work will typically be scheduled between Monday to Friday, 8:00am – 6:00pm. Scheduled hours range between 4 hours to 7 hours per day depending on the assignment.
  • The position is located at the New Westminster campus; however, the successful candidate must be available for occasional work at the Coquitlam campus.
