The Opportunity
Our client is seeking an Intermediate to Senior Structural Engineer to join their expanding Edmonton team. Responsibilities
- Plan, design, and deliver structural engineering projects from concept through construction.
- Prepare detailed structural designs and calculations in accordance with applicable codes and standards.
- Perform structural analysis and modeling using industry-standard software to develop safe, efficient designs.
- Review and approve technical design deliverables to ensure quality and compliance.
- Collaborate with architects, project managers, contractors, and other engineering disciplines to integrate structural solutions into overall project designs.
- Take ownership of technical quality and service delivery on assigned projects.
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to Engineers-in-Training (EITs) and design staff.
- Participate in construction site visits, client meetings, and project presentations.
- Stay current with industry trends, best practices, and code developments to continuously improve project outcomes.
Education & Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering (Structural specialization) from an accredited institution.Registered Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) in good standing with APEGA, or eligible for registration.7-15 years of structural design experience, including a minimum of 4 years as a licensed P.Eng.Proven experience designing multi-family residential, commercial, and institutional buildings using steel, concrete, and wood systems.Proficiency with structural analysis and design software such as SFRAME (Altair), SAFE, WoodWorks, Bluebeam, and Microsoft Office.Comfortable working on active construction sites and conducting site reviews.Experience working with existing buildings and facilities.Valid Class 5 driver's license and reliable transportation.Post-graduate degree (M.Eng. or equivalent) considered an asset.Experience in concrete restoration, parkade rehabilitation, balcony restoration, and building envelope rehabilitation is an asset.Candidate Profile
