Overview
SCS Consulting Group is a consulting engineering firm providing services to the land development industry throughout the GTA and surrounding areas. Our services include the design and contract administration of municipal infrastructure for residential subdivisions, and institutional, commercial, and industrial site plans.
Responsibilities
Reporting to a Project Manager, you will be involved with various aspects of land development projects through both the detailed design and construction phases. Your responsibilities will include preparing preliminary and final grading designs, servicing designs, coordinating projects through the approvals process, liasing with contractors, sub-consultants, and clients. Consideration of the earthworks balance will be key in developing the grading design, and sewer designs must ensure an optimum and efficient system is achieved.
Qualifications
SCS is looking for someone who is interested in pursuing a career in the Consulting Engineering Industry. The candidate should be self-motivated, willing to learn, and demonstrate a high level of inter-personal and communication skills. Further, a bright, enthusiastic individual is needed who can bring "outside the box" thinking to problem-solving discussions in finding solutions to meet client needs. Ideal candidates should possess experience in construction, land development engineering and be familiar with municipal servicing and grading design, as it relates to new residential and commercial developments.
In addition to being familiar with The Rational Method, PCSWMM, Manning’s Equation, and Harmon’s Peaking Factor, extensive knowledge of Microsoft Office applications and AutoCAD Civil 3D, would be an asset, although training will be provided.
