About Liver Canada

Liver Canada (LC), formerly the Canadian Liver Foundation, was first established in 1969 out of the passion and concern of a group of business leaders and doctors who believed that liver disease needed a champion. Since then, LC has relentlessly driven advancements in research, treatment, and support.

We remain the only non-governmental organization in Canada focused on liver health, and we’re the main source of non-profit funding for all forms of liver disease.

With the help of donors, volunteers, researchers, health professionals, corporate supporters, and community members, we are changing the future of liver health for those living in Canada.

About the Role

Reporting to the President & CEO, the Director, Mission is primarily responsible for the development, implementation, maintenance, evaluation, and improvement of Liver Canada’s key programs and services including Liver Canada’s research program, patient support programs, the National Help Line, Canada-wide LIVERight Health Forums, webinars, educational resources, patient support and advocacy initiatives and community outreach. This is a leadership role that includes developing the strategy for mission delivery and budget management, alongside the President & CEO. Additionally, the Director, Mission will build and maintain relationships with key healthcare partners, funders and community partners to help Liver Canada achieve its vision and mission.

  • Design and execute community information activities, advocacy campaigns, program activities, and work with LC teams to accomplish these goals.
  • Develop educational resources and programs and manage content, dissemination, and promotion.

  • Respond and engage with the community, upon request, to assist in individual support and assistance (i.e. letters of support).
