MENTAL HEALTH AND WELLNESS THERAPIST REQUIRED FOR ST. PAUL EDUCATION St. Paul Education is accepting applications for a 1.

0 FTE Mental Health and Wellness Therapist commencing the 2024-2025 school year. The School-Based Mental Health Therapist plays a crucial role in supporting the Division's education plan by addressing intensive Tier 4 mental health needs of students, ensuring they can thrive academically, personally and socially.

This role involves crisis response, therapy, collaborative work with school staff and families, and supporting preventive programs that align with the Division’s comprehensive school health goals for student well-being and success.

Specific Accountabilities : Provides evidence-based interventions to children, youth and families Consults with school personnel to foster environments supporting the social / emotional well-being of students Delivers crisis intervention and management to the school community, i.

e. trauma, suicidal ideation, non-suicidal self-injury, etc. Enhances communication and relationships between school and home environments Works collaboratively within a multi-disciplinary team to provide resources and strategies for students Provides professional development to staff and families Qualifications : Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology or Social Work (preference for Masters of Social Work or Counselling Psychology) Minimum of three (3) years’ experience providing therapeutic or formal counselling support to children, youth and families Competent in risk assessment, service implementation, collaboration and time management Experience in supporting children and youth experiencing trauma Belief in a strength-based and solution-focused approach A valid Driver’s Licence Salary and benefits are to be determined by qualifications and experience.
