Overview
Heather & Little is seeking a reliable, detail-oriented, and proactive individual to join our team as a Delivery & Inventory Support / Labourer. This role is essential for maintaining the smooth flow of materials and equipment, supporting shop operations, and ensuring timely deliveries to job sites. The ideal candidate is safety-conscious, organized, and ready to assist with a variety of tasks in a fast-paced construction or fabrication environment.
Key Responsibilities
Delivery & Logistics
- Receive and review delivery forms; collect all items listed and deliver them to job sites.
- Ensure the delivery form is signed upon completion and scan / send copies to the Operations Coordinator (OC) and Shop Manager (SM).
- Coordinate with the OC, Field Manager (FM), and SM to plan efficient delivery and pickup routes.
- Receive incoming deliveries and verify contents against packing lists or invoices.
- Experience using small power tools.
- Build crates or secure items for safe transport as required.
Inventory & Stock Management
Ensure the stockroom is fully stocked at all times. Notify the OC if stock is running low for replenishment.Update the Stock Sheet or Stock Board when stock is added or removed.Track inventory usage to maintain accurate records.Shop Support & General Labour
Assist with miscellaneous shop tasks, including cleaning, organizing, and maintaining a safe workspace.Operate and maintain forklifts safely; perform pre-use inspections.Conduct pre-use safety checks on vehicles, tools, and equipment.Perform minor maintenance on equipment as required.Empty garbage, clean shop floors, and maintain general shop cleanliness.Report any safety hazards or concerns immediately to the PM-Shop or supervisor.Qualifications
Valid driver’s license and safe driving record.Experience operating a forklift or other material handling equipment is an asset.Ability to lift and move heavy materials safely.Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.Comfortable working in a physical, fast-paced environment.Reliable, punctual, and proactive.Strong communication and teamwork skills.Knowledge of shop safety procedures and willingness to follow all safety protocols.Combination of shop and field work, including lifting, loading / unloading materials, and driving to job sites.Must be able to work extended hours occasionally based on project needs.Safety gear (hard hat, steel-toe boots, etc.) required on site and in the shop.Compensation
